Built at the time of the emperor Commodus (late 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0century AD), the temple was erected at the far end of a porticoed courtyard.<\/p>\n

The base of a statue with an inscription commemorating Martius Philippus, patron of the\u00a0fabri navales<\/em>\u00a0(the corporation of ship builders, the city\u2019s most important), responsible for building the temple, survives in the courtyard.<\/p>\n
